‘Cikada’ is Cikada Circus’ first show, and can be performed both indoors and outdoors.
A contemporary piece that mixes circus with theatre and movement, providing engagement for audience members from different backgrounds. The show is highly expressive yet without speech to enable everyone and anyone to understand.
Cikada is an acrobatic and poetic reflection of the balance between the organic and the human. With high level acrobatics and a graceful, pedestrian movement quality, the piece is a fun, thoughtful and humorous display of rich imagery and dynamic riveting movement.
The ideas explored are around absurd insect habits and the contrast to this of the relationship between two present human bodies. With moments of hilarity, moments of ferocity and moments of sensitivity, the show is a rendition of everyday life, mixed with absurd insect habits and scurrying movements.
